BSF Constable Tradesman Notification 2025 : Age Limit As On 24 August 2025

Minimum Age : 18 Years.
Maximum Age : 25 Years.
BSF provides age relaxation for the Constable Tradesman position as per their regulations.

Under this recruitment, a large number of vacancies have been announced. For male candidates, a total of 3406 posts are available. For female candidates, 182 posts have been allotted. The posts are likely to include various trades such as Cook, Sweeper, Water Carrier, Washerman, Barber, Waiter, and similar positions. Eligibility Criteria for Constable (Tradesman)

To be eligible for the Constable (Tradesman) post, candidates must have passed the 10th standard (Matriculation) from a recognized board. Along with this, they must possess either a valid ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate in the relevant trade or demonstrate proficiency and experience in the specific trade for which they are applying.

Physical Standards Test (PST)

The Physical Standards Test is a mandatory stage of the recruitment process. Candidates must meet certain minimum physical measurements in terms of height and chest (for males).

For male candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes (ST), the minimum required height is 160 centimeters, while for male candidates of other categories, the height requirement is 165 centimeters.

For female candidates, those belonging to ST categories must have a minimum height of 148 centimeters, while for other categories, it is 155 centimeters.

As for the chest measurement, it applies only to male candidates. All male applicants must have a chest size of 75 centimeters (unexpanded), which should expand to 80 centimeters. Female candidates are exempted from chest measurement criteria.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Once the candidates clear the PST, they will be required to participate in the Physical Efficiency Test, which evaluates their physical stamina through a race.

Male candidates must complete a five-kilometer race within twenty-four minutes. On the other hand, female candidates will have to complete a 1.6-kilometer race within eight minutes and thirty seconds.

Both the PST and PET are qualifying stages. Candidates must pass these stages to proceed further in the selection process, but no marks are awarded for them.

Additional Information

Candidates who successfully clear the PST and PET will move on to the subsequent stages of the selection process. These include a written examination, a trade test specific to the post applied for, and a medical examination.
